The Chang Shuai Chiao Family in Taiwan

Although the death of Chang Tung Sheng was a great loss to the martial arts world in general and Shuai Chiao in particular, his family and students continue to promote Shuai Chiao throughout Taiwan and around the world. This page serves to acknowledge some of the key people who contribute to the promotion of Shuai Chiao in Taiwan.

Yao Chang Ming was a student of Chang Tung Sheng at the Nanjing Martial Arts Institute in Mainland China and currently resides in Taiwan.

Yang Chong Hsiao was a student of Chang Tung Sheng at the Nanjing Martial Arts Institute in Mainland China and currently resides in Taiwan.

Chu Yuh-Lung is the Shuai Chiao program director at the Taiwan National Central Police University in Guei Shan on the outskirts of Taipei City. He took over the position when Chang Tung Sheng retired. Chu Yuh-Long is also the head judge at national Shuai Chiao tournaments in Taiwan. (The name “Yuh-Lung” means “Jade Dragon” in English).

Roger Soo is the Vice President of the Taiwan (R.O.C.) Shuai Chiao Association. He teaches shuai chiao at Fu Hsing Kang Military College and the Training Institute for Correctional Officials.

Guo Shen is an international wrestling (western style wrestling) judge and currently a Professor at the Chinese Culture University in Taipei.

Chang Kuang Ming is a professor at the Kaohsiung Institute of Technology and also practices Chinese medicine. He consistently has strong Shuai Chiao teams and has led teams to compete in the United States and Europe.

Lin Feng Wen is the 1^st Secretary of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) Shuai Chiao Association.

Jimmy Wu is a former Shuai Chiao instructor at the Central Police University, a judge for national Shuai Chiao tournaments in Taiwan, and an active member of the Taipei County Shuai Association. In the 1980’s he introduced Shuai Chiao to Germany and established a Shuai Chiao organization there. He has also judged at international Shuai Chiao events.

Simon Guo (Guo Xien Heng) was a student of Chang Tung Sheng and is currently the president of the Taipei County Shuai Chiao Association and a national Shuai Chiao tournament judge.

Chen Jing Wei is the assistant manager of student affairs at the Central Police University. He is a former Shuai Chiao instructor and currently teaches chin na. He is also a head judge at national Shuai Chiao tournaments.

Chou Liang Tu was a student of Chang Tung Sheng and is currently a Shuai Chiao instructor at the Central Police University and a national Shuai Chiao tournament judge.

Chen Tsong Ren is a national Shuai Chiao tournament judge.

Wei Shao Qin is a Shuai Chiao coach at the Military Police College.

Wu Yong Nien is a national Shuai Chiao tournament judge and was the original president of the Taipei County Shuai Chiao Association.

Wu Qin Ren is a very popular instructor with the Taipei County Shuai Chiao Association. He is known for his friendly demeanor and his nickname "Animal" refers only to the ferocity and power of his throws.

Wan Jen Tai is an advisor to the Taipei County Shuai Chiao Association.

Jian Dong Ming is an advisor to the Taipei County Shuai Chiao Association.

Zhang Min Zhe was hired by the Central Police University after graduating 2nd in his class. As the Shuai Chiao team manager he is responsible for all manpower issues relating to the Shuai Chiao team and can be found every practice sparring with the team members.

Mark Miller is the former chief instructor of the Ohio State University Shuai Chiao Club and has competed in tournaments in Taiwan, Mainland China, France, and throughout the U.S.
