Chinese characters are an integral part of Chinese culture. The Chinese characters in existence today derive in one way or another from ancient pictographs. There are 6 types of Chinese characters. Some are pictographs, some are symbols which represent ideas, and the rest combine sounds and/or meanings in various ways. Here, some of the Chinese characters that are relevant to Shuai Chiao are introduced. The characters are introduced with some explanation as their structure and meaning. With some practice and repetition the characters can be easily recognized, and for those more ambitious students who would like to learn how to write the characters the stroke orders are given.
